Mr. Charles ""Weldon"" Kelly, 86, of Winston-Salem died January 21, 20009 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born October 6, 1922 in Winston-Salem, the son of the late Clingman Edward Kelly and Ada Matthews Kelly. Mr. Kelly was a graduate of R. J. Reynolds High School and was a naval veteran of World War II. He was the founder of Kelly Office Machines, Inc. He was an avid world traveler and loved to take family and friends along on his journeys. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kelly was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward Matthews Kelly and Howard Eugene Kelly; a sister, Doris Ernestine Kelly; and a son, Patrick Matthew Kelly. He leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years, Esther Jones Kelly; four daughters, Esther Joelle Kelly, Melissa Anne Kelly Adams, Mary Eliza Kelly Woodburn, Miranda Jane Kelly Adams and husband, Tad; one son Joshua Peter Kelly and wife, Jamie; one daughter-in-law, Denise Pace Kelly; eight grandchildren, Joan Eliza Adams, James Zachery Woodburn, Noah Weldon Woodburn, John Alexander Kelly, Sarah Elizabeth Kelly, Eric Peter Kelly, Ian Matthew Kelly, Sean Patrick Kelly; one great grandson, Jakob Andrew Woodburn and one brother, Robert Wayne Kelly and wife, Lib. He was a loving husband, father and friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Our family wishes to express our deepest appreciation for the tender loving care given by the staff of Hospice. We will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday, January 23 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home of Silas Creek Parkway. Private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers we request that memorials be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
