FISHEL - RURAL HALL Charles Herman Fishel, age 64, of Rural Hall went home to be with the Lord on Monday October 8, 2012, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Charles was born in Davidson County on November 23, 1947. He was the son of George Herman Fishel and Louise Mabery Fishel. He was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Walkertown, NC for the last 40 years. He worked at ABF Freight for 21 years and had plans to retire next month. On September 2, 1966, he married the love of his life, Debbie Ann Norman. They had just recently celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary. Charles is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mary Ann Fishel Templeton; and two nieces. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Norman Fishel; his two children, Darrell Christopher Fishel (Lucy) and Dawn Fishel Rush (Brett); four grandchildren: Alex Fishel, Eric Fishel, Jonathon Rush and Jordan Rush; his sister Marie Fishel Norman; four nieces and five nephews. There will be a Memorial Service celebrating the life of Charles at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 12 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Dr. Bobby Roberson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com. Charles was a hardworking family man, always at the ready with his famous quick-witted humor. His family, close friends and a lucky few others knew the softhearted caring man underneath the weather-worn exterior. He was our gentle giant. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
