Mr. Charles Mercier Davis, Jr., 71, of Winston-Salem died Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born July 25, 1939 in Covington,GA, the son of the late, Charles Mercier Davis, Sr. and Fannie Ruth Davis. Mr. Davis was a graduate of The University of Georgia School of Pharmacy. He was a veteran of the US Airforce and was retired from Eckerd Drugs. Survivors include his wife, Colleen O'Linn Davis of the home; one son, Christopher Todd Davis and girlfriend, Teresa Setula of Glenn Alpine, two grandsons, Christopher Jordan Davis and Bradley Logan Davis of Glenn Alpine; one sister, Beverly Chalk of Athens, GA; two sisters-in-law, Karen O'Linn of Winston-Salem and Jackie Butler and husband, Dale of Lewisville; four nieces, Suzanne Chalk of Atlanta, GA, Heather Chalk of Athens, GA, and Courtney Butler and Katie Butler of Lewisville; one great nephew, Cameron Wilie of Athens, GA, his former wife and dear friend, Sandra Davis of Winston-Salem, and two very close friends, Pam Cable and Faye Crawford. A memorial service will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 PM at First Christian Church of Winston-Salem with Dr. Michael Simpson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Burial will take place at Salisbury National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
