Mr. Charles ""Pete"" Cornatzer, 80 of Advance died Sunday, November 7, 2010. He was born August 30, 1930 in Davie County to the late Charlie and Hollie Hendrix Cornatzer. Mr. Cornatzer had retired from the Ingersoll-Rand Company and had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Hanes Cornatzer, one brother, Richard ""Red"" Cornatzer. Surviving are his Children, Hollie C. Anderson and husband Kevin, Marty Cornatzer and Justin Cornatzer and two grandchildren, Cellie Cornatzer and Bryson Anderson all of Advance; three brothers, Quincy ""Bud"" Cornatzer and wife Faye, Clinton ""Jitter"" Cornatzer and wife Bonnie both of Advance and Toby Cornatzer and wife Ann of Fork and a sister-in-law, Jeanette Cornatzer of Advance. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Advance United Methodist Church by Rev. Cheryl Skinner and Chaplain A.G. Parker. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
