Mr. Charles Jerry Cermak, Jr., 79, of Winston-Salem passed away peacefully Monday, February 22, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center following a long illness. He was born January 20, 1931 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Charles Jerry Cermak, Sr. and Alberta Cermak. Mr. Cermak served in the Korean War before moving to Winston-Salem. He was preceded in death by two sons, Gary and Glen. Surviving is his beloved wife of 59 years, Helen Vavra Cermak of the home and one son, Geoffrey Cermak and wife, Debby of Wilmington. The funeral service will be conducted Friday at 11:00 AM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Richard Little officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
