Mr. Charles Corson Bolton, Sr., 88, of Winston-Salem, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017 at his home. He was born April 27, 1929 in Salem County, NJ to Almeda Lee Bolton and Herman Bolton. Mr. Bolton was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on the aircraft carrier, USS Midway. He graduated from Piedmont Bible College in 1956 and from Salem College in 1979. Mr. Bolton was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School and was a deacon. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a mediator with Mediation Services of Forsyth County. He was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Trewin and four brothers, Bill, Earl, Jerry and Woody. Surviving are his wife, Mary Green Bolton; one daughter, Jan B. Carver of Winchester, KY; two sons, Charles C. Bolton, Jr. (Ruth) of Pittsboro and Benjamin L. Bolton (Tina) of Winston-Salem; six grandchildren, Travis, Becca, Amanda, James, Hannah and Grace; four great grandchildren, Aiden, Ellie, Forrest and Chatham and one sister, Leslie Hildreth. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Rosemont Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Reed officiating.
