KERNERSVILLE – Charles Clayton Bodenhamer, Sr., 62, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023, at Wake Forest Baptist Health. Charles was born in Forsyth County on September 30, 1960, to Randall and Bessie Duggins Bodenhamer. He was a graduate of Camden Military Academy and a member of Peace Haven Baptist Church. Charles loved being outside, gardening, fishing, RC airplanes, and tinkering. He was a fun-loving, hardworking man, spiritual and honest. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be dearly missed.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Bodenhamer; and his brother, R.J. Bodenhamer.
Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Teresa Bodenhamer; five children, Tracy Schaefer (Travis) of East Bend, Chrissy Hamlin (Michael) of King, Charles Bodenhamer, Jr. (Penny) of Wallburg, Angel Bodenhamer (Mitch Bogda) of Export, PA, and Patches Bodenhamer (Damon Mahaffey) of Winston-Salem; brother Louie Bodenhamer of Roland; sixteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a host of aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends; along with his canine buddy, KiKi.
The family of Charles would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Joshua Johnson and the rest of the staff at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Pastors John Brand and Michael Waters officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
