Charles "Chuck" Benson, Sr.

KERNERSVILLE - Charles ""Chuck"" Benson, Sr., 72, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at his home. Chuck was born March 11, 1943 in Connecticut to William and Thilda Kinney Benson. He attended The Bridge Christian Fellowship where he shared his craftsmanship with their building program. Chuck had a strong passion for helping others and was willing to do anything for anyone in need.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Joseph and Edwin Benson; and 1 sister, Thilda.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Nancy Benson; a son, Charles Benson, Jr. (wife, Kim); a daughter, Cara LaFlamme; 4 grandchildren, Amanda, Melissa, Samantha, and Daniel; 2 step-grandchildren, Alyssa and Makayla; 1 sister, Nancy Sperry; and a brother, William Benson, of CT.

A memorial service will be held Friday, October 23, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
