Charles Amos Davis

Charles “Charlie” Amos Davis, 76, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 27, 2023, following a long health battle. Charlie was born December 8, 1946, to B.R. and Eula Davis in High Point, NC. He managed a number of grocery stores over the years and worked with his son-in-law until retirement. Charlie loved older classic country music, good BBQ, driving his tractor and lawnmower, the Tarheels, and the NY Yankees. He was known to break out clogging when he heard good music. More than that he adored Gail, his wife of 31 years, and his kids and grandkids. He would help anyone and was generous to a fault. He was a follower of Christ and loved his church family at Living Hope Church. 

Charlie is preceded in death by his parents.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Gail Davis; sons Craig Davis (Heather) and Barry Davis (Amber); stepson, Michael Russo (Anna); stepdaughters, Karen Tesh (David), and Amanda Wares (Michael); siblings, Jimmy (Jean), Carol Vance (Don), Susie Hilton (Gary), Roger (Denise), and Robert (Wanda); eighteen grandchildren, Julia Russo, Kinsey Garrick (Tanner), Seth Russo, Gracie Russo, Courtney Wilson (Kevin), Neil Tesh, Carlee Tesh, Pierce Tesh, Jacob Tesh, Gabe Tesh, MaryFrances Tesh, Mitchell Tesh, Miriam Tesh, Tara Davis, Susannah Webb (Jared), Killian Wares, Katrielle Wares, and Deacon Wares; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends. It was said many times over the years that you can’t go anywhere with Charlie that he didn’t run into someone he knew!

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Living Hope Church in Kernersville with Pastor Ben Cotton officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Living Hope Church at 1339 N Main St, Kernersville, NC 27284.
