Mr. C.H. Harris, 76, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Harris was born on May 27, 1935 in Forsyth County to the late Mr. Columbus Haywood Harris and Vada Walsh Harris. C.H. retired after 28 years of service as a truck driver for Pilot Freight. He was a member of Salem Masonic Lodge #289 of Winston-Salem. C.H. also was a longtime member of Westside Baptist Church as long as his health permitted. Preceding Mr. Harris in death along with his parents were his wife, Janet Jessup Harris; a sister, Lois Allen Harris and a brother, Glenn Harris. Surviving Mr. Harris are five children; a sister, Chessie Wilson of Winston-Salem; a brother, L.E. Harris (Edna) of Winston-Salem; a ""special nephew"" Rev. Ronnie Glenn Harris of Winston-Salem and other numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Harris officiating. Burial will follow the service at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons, NC. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
