Cesario Miguel Amador-Lachapelle

Cesario Miguel Amador-Lachapelle, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at his home. He was born to the late Felipe Amador and Maria del Carmen Lachapelle on September 17, 1933, in the Dominican Republic.

Cesario was a faithful and strong man of God. His bible reading, prayer and devotion time were the start and the ending of his every day. He enjoyed dancing, music, specifically, typical merengue from the Dominican Republic was his favorite. Cesario was a family orientated man who made the best out of every situation. He always put his family first. He had a unique way of showing love and touching the hearts and lives of every person he met.

Cesario was a hard-working man, who provided, supported, and protected his family until his last day on this earth. He married the love of his life at the age of 19 years old when she was 16 years old. The family quickly grew to add 6 children, 3 boys and 3 girls. When they thought they were done, approximately 28 years into the marriage, they welcomed the last addition to the family, a baby girl. This God ordained union lasted for over 72 years.

Cesario’s first profession was agriculture, he then transitioned to commercial business trade. He ended his work journey in The United States as a cook in an Italian restaurant, where he worked many years before he retired. He started out working for others to support his family, while saving money as he could to support his dream of having his own. He was able to bring this vision to past, growing his own business to the point of ownings several acres of land, cattle, and such, as well as an array of agricultural products for trade. This business supported his immediate family as well as his extended family and friends when needed.  His vision did not stop there as the other part of it was to continually transition his family to an even better way of life than their current one.

This journey included moving the family to different and better cities than the current one, ending this trail by moving the family to The United States. For Cesario, the relocation of the family to a new country with a foreign language was extremely hard. However, he felt that the sacrifice would be well worth it, and he proved to be right. During that period, Cesario had to leave most of the family behind, including his youngest child, who continued to be a young minor at the time. Cesario reported that due to the brokenness of his heart by having to leave his minor child behind, he found a way to legally sponsor the rest of the family in an affidavit that included all his remaining children in the country along with all of their children. This move transitioned the entire family to the United States.

Cesario was a sweet and loving man, who during his retirement years, learned how to cook and do domestic work for the soul purpose of supporting his wife as she faced an array of health problems, ranging from mild to severe. He then became her eyes and her legs as she became disable.

Cesario was a pillar of strength and a very patient and kind man. During the last days of his life, he continued to provide, love, and protect each member of his family but foremost, his wife. In his own way, he demonstrated his love in a different but unique manner to each member of the family, such as, by giving people the last bite of his favorite meal, gifting family and friends with random tokens of his appreciation. Additionally, he patiently spoon-fed all of the generations of children in the family as needed, especially those picky eaters, who would take a very long time to eat. He did this without ever getting upset despite how long the feedings were taking. He always ensured to have gifts and the favorite snacks of all of the children in the family when they came to visit his home. This was true even if the visits were unplanned. He remained joyful, loving, and strong until his last breath. In his own unique way, he managed to say farewell to each member of the family even though he knew, this was delaying his own well-deserved ascension into the bosom of Christ.

He will be deeply missed by all the loved ones he left behind to cherish his loving memory.

In addition to his parents Cesario was preceded in death by his 11 siblings and 10 half siblings. He is survived by his loving wife, Aurora Amador; his daughters: Engracia De La Cruz (Odilio), Santa Amador, Dionencia Amador, and Gardenia Myers (Gerry); his sons: Matias Amador (Patricia), Maximino Amador (Angela), and Santo Amador (Maribel); 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
