Mrs. Celia Green Clayton, 82, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Friday September 30, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Clayton was born in Granville County, NC on November 23, 1928 to the late Mr. Gary and Addie Mae Green. She was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Clayton was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by all of her family. Preceding Mrs. Clayton in death along with her parents are her husband, R.C. Clayton; a brother, Glen Green and a sister, Mae Adams. Surviving Mrs. Clayton are a son, Steven Alan Clayton (Benita) of Winston-Salem; a daughter, Karen Clayton Compton (William) of Vanceboro, NC; 3 granddaughters, Dawn Kelly Chaudoin, Lauren Kelly McNeese, and Katie Rebecca Clayton; 5 great-grandchildren and a precious sister, Bittie Williams. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Doug Hochmuth officiating. Burial will follow the service at Salem Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 12:00PM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday October 4, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
