WINSTON-SALEM - Mr. Cecil Roy Sisk, 92, formerly of 2935 Durant Dr. Winston-Salem, died Saturday June 11th at Salemtowne Moravian Home in Winston-Salem. Born in Stokes County, North Carolina on December 22, 1918, he was a son of the late Charlie William Sisk and Florence Yates Sisk. He was preceded in death by brothers: Clyde, Howard, Gilmer, Victor, Eugene and a sister, Era Pegg. He was a member of Union Cross Moravian Church and was a former board member for many years. He was a baker by profession having worked at Holsum Bakery in Winston-Salem for over 45 years. He served on the School Board in Forsyth County for several years. He served as an Assistant Scout Master in the Boy Scouts Of America and was active in the Travelers Protective Association for many years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Good Conduct Medal, American Service Medal, American Defense Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was married on May 29, 1941 to Sally Lelia Williard who preceded him in death. Survivors include a son, Ronnie Sisk and his wife, Linda of Kernersville, daughters, Linda Brater and her husband, Bill of Statesville and Pamela Delgado and her husband, Frank of Winston-Salem, along with 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Services celebrating Cecil's life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Union Cross Moravian Church with Rev. Donald W. Griffin officiating. He will lie in state at the church for thirty minutes prior to the service and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, June 13, 2011, from 7:00 until 9:00 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Kernersville.
