Cecil Lawrence Rose

Mr. Cecil Lawrence Rose, 78, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born May 6, 1935 in Forsyth County to Raymond A. and Mozelle Anders Rose. Mr. Rose was of the Baptist faith. He worked at Old Salem and retired with many years of loyal service. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, baseball and football. He never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Peggy Ledford; and one daughter, Sharon. Surviving are three daughters; two sons; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; his mother, Mozelle Rose of Winston-Salem; three sisters, Frances Griffin of Mocksville, Shelva Whittington (Buddy) of Winston-Salem, and Mildred Thompson (Mike) of Winston-Salem; one brother, Clifton Albert Rose (Sheila) of Winston-Salem; and special friends, Sonya and Eddie of the Virgin Islands. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Woodland Cemetery with the Rev. James Whittington officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Saturday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
