Cecil Curtis Miller, Jr., 72, died Monday, January 25, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after a courageous 14-month battle with stomach cancer. He was born October 18, 1937 in Mobile, Alabama to the late Cecil Miller, Sr. and Mary Cecile Shaw Miller. He was retired from AT&T/General Dynamics with 33 years of service as a field operations specialist and transoceanic cable splicer. He was a member of New Philadelphia Moravian Church. He was an avid collector of Corvair automobiles and was a member of the Corvair Society of America for over 35 years, serving the organization in many capacities on the national, state and local levels. He also enjoyed camping and restoring his GMC motorhomes. On October 22, 1960, he married Patsy Harpe Miller who survives of the home. In addition, he is survived by his brothers Gene (Mary), Clayton; Perry (Diane), Greensboro; Vince (Cathy), Knoxville, TN, and Kenny (Glenna), Freeport, FL; brother-in-law, Lee Harpe and wife Katie; sister-in-law, Alberta Harpe, and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and friends. The funeral service will be held at New Philadelphia Moravian Church on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Dr. Worth Green and Dr. David Marcus officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall following the service.The family wishes to express their appreciation to the many friends who supported them throughout Cecil's prolonged illness.
