Mr. Cecil Richard Lawson, Sr., 80, passed away Wednesday, October 29 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born March 12, 1928 in Forsyth County to the late Sam Richard and Etta Davis Lawson. Mr. Lawson retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 30 years of service and was a member of Believers Baptist Church. Mr. Lawson is survived by his wife, Alevie S. Lawson of the home; one son, C. Richard Lawson, Jr. (Joyce); one daughter, Pamela L. Culler (Jerald); three grandchildren, Julie Marsh, Matthew Lawson, and Bobby Coleman; seven great-grandchildren; a step-daughter, Denise Waddell (Michael); and two step-grandchildren, Brandon and Bryan Williams. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 31 at Believers Baptist Church with the Rev. Don McGee officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. English and Dr. Smull for the care given to Mr. Lawson.
