Cecelia Atkins Foltz, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmie R. Foltz. She was born on July 25, 1938 to the late Norman Michael Willard and Mary Kinnamon Willard and was a lifelong resident of the Winston-Salem area. Cecelia built a career in business and accounting, working for Wachovia Bank, Hanes and Convenient Systems. She also worked many years for BFI which later became Republic Waste, Inc.; retiring from her position as controller in 2000.
Cecelia was a long-time member of Faith Church of Midway. As a lifelong sports fan, she loved Atlanta Braves baseball and college basketball. Her favorite teams were UNC and Wake Forest. Her favorite vacations were with her family to a beach destination and the family will cherish the many vacations they enjoyed with her. Her last opportunity to do this was in 2020.
Family was at the center of her life and she was blessed with a large one. She is survived by her brothers, Mike Willard (Beth) and Steve Willard (Barbara) and her sister, Teena Franklin (Freddie), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Her children are Tony Atkins (Kimberly Waterhouse), and his children Robert and Shannon Atkins; Teresa Jones (Archie) and their children, Tre Jones (Kaytlin), Jaime Jones (Laura) and Alicia Jones; Kelly Hoots and her children, Sara Sheffield (Justin) and Brad Hoots (Constance) and Greg Atkins (deceased), his widow Alice and their children, Scott and Lauren Atkins. She had five great-grandchildren: Hudson, Caleb and Lily Jones, Billy Sheffield and Bradley Hoots. Cecelia had two step-daughters: Frankie Jo Lillard (Gary) and their children Keith Lillard (Ashley), Katie Bullins (deceased) and three great-grandchildren; Joan Dark (Garry) and their children Angie Lowry (Wes), Travis Dark, Allison White (Joel), Ashley Parks (Morgan) and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Hayworth Miller Silas Creek Chapel at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 1, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM. Interment will immediately follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons, NC.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in memory of Cecelia to the missionary work of her granddaughter, Alicia Jones who lives and serves in Eastern Europe.
