Cathy "P'nut" Rogers Golding

Cathy ""P'nut"" Rogers Golding, 61, of Winston-Salem, passed away February 11, 2015 at Oak Forest Health and Rehabilitation Center. Cathy was born May 25, 1953 in Raleigh, NC to the late Milton Rogers and Marion Moore Rogers. Cathy was preceded in death by her father and a step-granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Patterson.
Surviving are her husband, Lloyd Layton Golding, II; her mother; a brother, Milton Edward Rogers, Jr.; two sisters, Connie Rogers and Cheryl Rogers Queen (Tim), a stepson, Lloyd Layton Golding, III (Larisa); step-daughter, Cindylu Golding Patterson; four step-grandchildren, Melissa Lynn Huffman (Bud), Alexandra Riley Golding, Andrei Layton Golding and Brandon Alexander Golding; two step-great grandchildren, Kaylie Elizabeth Huffman and Colton Mitchell Huffman; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. A dedicated employee of the Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation for 43 years, Cathy graduated from Salem College cum laude, and attended Oxford University as an intern. In addition to being a dedicated and loving Shriner's wife for 24 years, Cathy's deep compassion for people and her dedication to animal welfare was evidenced by her volunteer work with the Legal Aid Society, the Humane Society and the Kentucky Colonels Club. The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Winston-Salem, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 also at Hayworth-Miller with Rev. John H. Stanley and Rev. Eric Lawson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Shriners Children's Hospital, 604 Doug May's Place, Charlotte, NC 28262.
