Catherine Chaney Maracic

KERNERSVILLE-Catherine Chaney Maracic, a loving mother and grandmother, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born in Forsyth Co. to Frances M. Chaney and the late Robert L. Chaney.

Cathy was a long time employee of the US Postal Service. Her infectious personality and smile drew people to her and she loved spending time with her family and friends. She also loved her job at the postal service.

Surviving are her two sons, Matthew Maracic of Gainesville,FL and Andrew Maracic of Kernersville, NC; grandchildren, Alora, Nicholas and Lucas; sister, Susan Canter of Kernersville; and brother, Robert (LuAnn) Chaney of Charlotte.


A Memorial Service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Gary Elrod officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Gur Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
