Mrs. Cassie Lou Fletcher Salmons went to her heavenly home on the morning of August 23, 2014. She was born on October 4, 1935, to John Thomas Fletcher and Halia Jane Taylor Fletcher. She retired from Hanes Knitting and Hanesbrands, Inc. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Albert Salmons, and five sisters and three brothers. She is survived by a son, Larry Salmons and wife Joy; two daughters, Terri Childress and husband Danny, and Carol Salmons, all of Winston Salem. Also surviving are special grandchildren, Drew Childress and wife Allyson, Hannah Childress, Charlene Mabe and husband Greg, and five great grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by a wonderful, life-long friend and caregiver, Ms. Doris (Nana) Murray.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6pm-8:30pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The funeral will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Parkview Church of God (3263 Kernersville Road, Winston Salem, NC 27107). Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family would like to express our deep appreciation to the staff of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center - Intermediate Care, the staff of the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, and our family and friends for all of your prayers, support, calls, meals, and love.
