Mr. Carson Edward Atwood, of Winston Salem, was called home to be with the Lord on January 21, 2018. Carson was born April 24, 1945 to Mr. Theodore Atwood and Mrs. Betty Atwood. Carson is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rita Atwood, their son; Clint Atwood and his wife Jennifer Atwood, his brother Tim Atwood, and his two grandchildren; Raeley Atwood and Ace Atwood. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 4 siblings; Ted Atwood, Roger Atwood, Terry Atwood, and Patsy Hudson. Carson was a proud Vietnam Veteran who also served in The National Guard during his 18 years career serving the Country he Loved. Carson was a man that loved to meet and greet all people, and had never met a stranger. Griffith Baptist Church was his place of worship where he was loved by all for his outgoing personality and cheerful hugs. His friendly spirit and genuine love for people will be greatly missed by all that knew him. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 2pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Tony Brown and Pastor Bobby Vaughan officiating. Family will receive friends that afternoon at 1pm immediately followed by services in the Hayworth-Miller Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made to the VFW Memorial Honor Guard, 4433 Bashavia Drive, Pfafftown, NC.
