Carroll Bowman Sparks

Carroll Violet Sparks, 96, of Winston Salem, NC, entered peacefully into the gates of heaven on Saturday June 29th, 2024. She was born on March 31st 1928 in Mt. Airy, NC. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred Bowman and Dorothy Wolf, her grandparents Coy and Grace Carroll, her son -in-law Rick Webster, as well as two brothers, and two sisters. 

Carroll was a very loving mother and grandmother. She spent most of her days watching after her grandchildren, as well being a full time Nanny. She was always so proud of how many children she took care of. She was a Nannie to many! And most of her “children” often kept in touch with her. 

She is survived by her two children, daughter, Debbie Webster, and son, Bobby Sparks, Jr. (Melody); three grandchildren, Ryan Sparks, Kimberly Hurd (Monte), and Hannah Keitt (Justin); 7 great grandchildren, Haley and Sawyer Bowden, Cassidy and baby Keitt, and Aiden, Olivia, and Riley Hurd; and one sister, Nancy Miller. 

Carroll had a love of animals. Especially her two dogs, C-Lou and Gracie. 

Carroll was a very spunky lady. Everyone that knew her would agree. And everyone that knew her, loved her. 

There will be a Celebration of Life Service at Hayworth Miller Silas Creek Chapel, 3315 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston Salem, NC 27103 at 2:00pm on Tuesday July 2nd, 2024, with Pastor Dale Johnston officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the outstanding staff of Mallard Ridge Assisted Living. They took such good care of Carroll during her stay there, but especially as she transitioned into her eternal home. We will forever be grateful to each of you.
