Mrs. Carrie Ellen Perrel Harper, 92, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Forsyth County, NC October 20, 1918 to the late John Henry and Cynthia Morris Boles Perrel. Mrs. Harper was a lifelong member at St. Mark United Methodist Church and currently was the oldest member at the time of her passing. She retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 32 years of service. Preceding her in death was her husband, Max Benbow Harper; two sisters, Iris Davis and Clarrice Wall; four brothers, Henry Perrell, Clyde Perrel, J.D. Perrel, and Wade Perrel. Surviving is her son, Max Dean Harper and wife Mary Ann; sister, Helen Watson and husband George; two sisters-in-law, Joan Perrel and Thelma Perrel; also surviving are many loving nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Kel Billings and Pastor David Felts officiating. A private family burial will be held on Monday, November 15, 2010 at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Saturday at the funeral home. The family would like to send special thanks to Kay Brown and Teresa Watson for all the care and support they gave to Mrs. Harper.
