Mrs. Carrie Louise ""Lennis"" Rierson Crews, 68, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born in Stokes County on November 12, 1941 to the late George Edward Rierson and Gladys Lennis Mabe Rierson. Lennis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She loved cooking, canning and working in her garden. Lennis was a friend and neighbor to all and will be missed dearly by all who knew her. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Rierson and Robert Junior Rierson. Lennis is survived by her husband Gene Crews of the home, a daughter, Tami Stroud and husband Jayson of Rural Hall, her grandson, Chandler Stroud, four sisters, Mary Sue Mabe of Madison, Laura Brown of Walnut Cove, Lola Fry and husband Rick of Germanton and Lois Slate and husband Larry of Walnut Cove, two brothers, Walter Rierson and wife Peggy of Germanton and J.D. Rierson and wife Bonnie of Walnut Cove and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services for Lennis will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Rev. Torrey Easler officiating. Entombment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park Mausoleum in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends from 7-9 this evening March 16, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
