I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7 Carrie Brown Brewer 87, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2022. She was born on January 28, 1935, in Winston Salem, NC, to the late Miles E Brown and Beulah H Brown.
Carrie grew up in Winston-Salem, NC and attended Gray High School. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church for 70 years. During her years at Salem, she was the Director of the Sunday School Nursey. She loved caring for the children. She saw several generations of children become adults and start another generation of children. Carrie also joined the DMA (Don't Mention Age) and loved the fellowship and travel with her friends. When Salem created the Good News Club in the school system Carrie was right there volunteering her time. Carrie loved her Lord Jesus Christ, and she loved Missions. Carrie was owner and operator of her Day Care center from1974-2001 before retiring. She cared for many, many children throughout her life. Carrie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her kind and generous spirit was evident to all that knew her, and she loved her family and friends beyond measure.
In addition to her parents, Carrie was preceded in death by her husband, Harry H Brewer; and a brother, Miles E Brown Jr.
Carrie leaves behind to cherish her memory her 5 children, Ike Brewer, Charles V Brewer (Susan), Rebecca Garner (Thomas), Patricia Carden (Steve), and James Brewer (Wanda); 8 grandchildren, Roy Baker, Bridgett Grubb, Stewart Brewer, Lucas Brewer (Mary Kate), Kevin Carden (Amanda), Jason Carden (Samantha), Chris Brewer (Kat), and Heather Brewer (Joe); 9 great-grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Cope (Norman); and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at 2:00 at Hayworth Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Kivett Hicks and Pastor Floyd Boles officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM.
