Mrs. Carolyn Lou Williams Smith, 67, of Mocksville was called home to be with Jesus on Saturday, September 9, 2017. She was born January 3, 1950 to Mary Kathleen and George Taft Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving is her husband of 51 years, Donald William Smith; four children, Donald William Smith Jr. (Pam) of Lexington, Susie Jane Durham (Bishop Denny) of Mooresville, Brenda Marie Benson (Rusty) of Mocksville and Clarence Eugene Smith (Michelle) of Mocksville; five grandchildren, Joshua Smith, Caleb Benson, Gwen Durham, Ashley Black and Eric Beck; eight great grandchildren and Susie Durham's adopted Daddy Hubert Cascaddon. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Rev. John Miles and Rev. Bruce Harry officiating. Burial will follow at Turrentine Baptist Church in Mocksville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
