Carolyn Patterson

Carolyn H. Patterson, 93, was promoted to 'Angel' status on Monday, May 16, 2022, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home (Trellis Supportive Care). She was born in Boone, NC to Fred and Mary Hodges on November 5, 1928. She has resided in Winston-Salem since 1950, and at the time of her death she resided at the Heritage Woods Senior Living.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph S. Patterson of 64 years; and her beloved dog of 19 years, Beau. She is survived by her cousins Della Helms (Steve), Jim Sigman (Susan), Susan Shelton (Ben), Ellen Greeson (Dale), Marilyn Amick (John, Sr.) John Amick, Jr., Ronald Amick (Debi), and Ben Amick (Beverly), and a dear devoted friend of 24 years, Gwen Whitaker (Alex). Known for her million-dollar smile she never met a stranger and was loved by all that had the honor of meeting her. She enjoyed watching television and ensuring that others knew the best shows to watch daily. For much of her life she was a world-renowned Bridge player with her husband as her partner, and she loved playing the piano.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, May 23, 2022, at Salem Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel at 12:30 PM, to drive to the cemetery in procession.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Katie B. Hospice Home (Trellis Supportive Care) or a charity of choice.
