Carolyn Midkiff Lumley

Ms. Carolyn Renee Midkiff Lumley went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday May 29, 2015. She was born March 24, 1965 in Forsyth County to Donnie Joe Midkiff and Sandra Taylor Midkiff. Carolyn was a devoted wife, loving daughter, and sister. She was a member of Woodland Baptist church and dearly loved her church family. Carolyn realized her love of helping others when, as a teenager, she became a junior volunteer, ""candy striper"" at Forsyth Medical Center. She graduated high school from Woodland Baptist Christian School, then earned her associate degree in nursing at Forsyth Technical Community College. She began her career in nursing at Forsyth Medical Center, where she was employed for 27 years. Carolyn held high standards in caring for the patients she served and had a passion for helping people. She was a lovely person who exemplified great courage. She made a difference in many lives and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Wayne Lumley and her loving, precious ""Sadie"". She is survived by her parents, Donnie and Sandra; her brothers Jeffrey Allen Midkiff (Becky) of Walkertown; Robert Kevin Midkiff (Melissa) of Pilot Mountain. She is also survived by 7 very special nieces and nephews; Joy Midkiff, Joseph Midkiff (Jessica); Jonathan Midkiff (Danielle); Jessica M. Midkiff; Hope Bowman, Bree Midkiff, and Darton Midkiff. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 2 at Woodland Baptist Church with Reverend Tim Gammons Officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2015 at the Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com. One of her favorite scriptures that guided her life was Ephesians 2:10: ""For we are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.""
