Carolyn Ruth Horton

Mrs. Carolyn Ruth Horton, 58, of Tobacoville died Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at her home. She was born October 18, 1954 in Galax, VA to Larry and Edna Looney Richardson. Mrs. Horton was a member of First Baptist Church of King where she sang in the choir and was a member of the praise team. She was a 1986 graduate of High Point University. She was Data Base Manager at Hanes Brand, Inc. with 36 years of service. She always had a song in her heart and never met a stranger. She always thought of others before herself. She was preceded in death by her father and her sister, Melva Richardson. Survivors include her husband, Greg Horton of the home; two sons, Jody Horton and fiancée, Hannah Byler and Stephen Horton of Winston-Salem; her mother and step father, Edna and Tom Lowe of Winston-Salem; her brother, Jerry Richardson and wife, Bonnie of Germanton; two step sisters, Debbie Sineath and husband, Jimmie of Raleigh and Vivian Davis of East Bend; and one step brother, Tom Lowe, Jr. of Topanga, CA. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of King with Dr.Karl Minor officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway.
