Carolyn Jean Grubbs

Carolyn Jean Grubbs, 73, of Clemmons, NC passed away December 30, 2009 at the Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born July 13, 1936 in Bryson City, NC, to the late Charlie M. Coleman and Jemima Coleman-Andrews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wayne Grubbs and son Donald B. Owenby, Jr.; her brother Larry C. Coleman; and a sister, Linda L. Coleman - Gray. Left to cherish memories are her Aunt Clairene Tabor - Patterson of Franklin, NC, a brother, Wayne M. Coleman and his wife Gail of Rossville, GA; two sisters Wenona R. Jackson of Anchorage, AK and Betty Sue Woodring of Sylva, NC; a brother-in-law, Toney Grubbs and wife Tammie of Winston-Salem, sister-in-law Joan Griffith Coleman of Winston-Salem; many nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins throughout the area and Alaska. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, January 6, 2009 at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 9:30 am - 10:30 am Wednesday, prior to the service, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Carolyn and family wish to thank all of the medical staff at the Forsyth Medical Center and Dr. Necum and staff, who helped in her long battle with cancer.
