Carol Ann James Hackett

Mrs. Carol Ann James Hackett, 75, of Winston-Salem, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, November 16, 2021.  Carol was born in Forsyth County on April 26, 1946, to the late David Matthew James and Ethel Culler James.  Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.  She provided a loving home for her family and cherished time spent with them.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.  Carol is survived by her husband, Norris “Red” Hackett; her children, Melissa Hackett and Justin Hackett (Olivia); three grandchildren, Shannah, Madelyn, and Easton James; and numerous other loving relatives.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 19, 2021, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Mark Leone officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
