Carol McAdams Williams, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away on December 29, 2022 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital after an extended illness. She was born in Elkin, NC on December 1, 1950 to Selene Parker McAdams and George Mel McAdams, who both preceded her in death. She graduated from RJ Reynolds High School, attended Greensboro College and worked at GMAC Insurance.
Carol married Billy Williams and together they lived in Augusta, Georgia for many years before returning to Winston-Salem, NC. She is survived by one child, James Mel Williams, and one grandchild, Landon Williams. Carol is also survived by two sisters, Lou McAdams Garner (Ralph) and Grace McAdams Carlton (Paul), two nephews, Santford Garner and Randy Carlton, and two great nieces, Olivia Garner and Isabella Garner. She is also survived by a cherished sister-in-law and brother-in-law – Debra and Steve Brendler, of Bluffton, SC.
Carol was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was an avid reader and was a gifted needle-worker leaving behind many beautiful quilts, cross-stitch and needlework pieces. A source of great enjoyment to Carol were family gatherings, trips to the beach and visiting with family in Augusta and elsewhere.
A private family memorial service will be held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
