Carol Sue Starling

Ms. Carol Sue Starling, 80, of Clemmons, passed away on November 26, 2024, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. Carol was born on February 8th, 1944, in Baltimore, Maryland, the only daughter to the late Mr. Clarence Neal Everhart Sr. and Mrs. Clara Wilson Everhart. 

She proudly attended James A. Gray High School and was a 1962 graduate. After graduation she worked for the Social Security Administration as a claim representative, she retired from there with 30 years of service. She also worked as a registration clerk in the Emergency Department and a Transcriptionist for the Pathology department of Wake Forest Baptist Health for 25 years. 

After her retirement, she found a profound love for cooking, reading, and traveling to the Outer Banks. Most of all she cherished being a mother to her two children, Thomas C. Starling and Michelle Creech, and a grannie to her two grandchildren, Ashlyn and Jaxson. In addition to her children & her grandchildren, she is survived by two brothers Leroy Everhart and Jack Everhart, and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in passing by her two brothers, Bob Everhart and Clarence Everhart.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 12:00pm, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Dr. Rob Decker officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Forsyth Memorial Park.

Carol would tell everyone not to mourn her loss, but that she “Loves you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.” In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
