Carol Spaugh

Mr. Carol Taft Spaugh, 89, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022.  He was born in Forsyth County on July 28, 1933 to the late Howard Taft Spaugh and Elva Cornish Spaugh.  Mr. Spaugh served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1951-1953.  He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 33 years of service.  Mr. Spaugh was of the Baptist faith and was a man of integrity.  He enjoyed being outdoors and fishing at the coast.  Preceding him in death was his wife of 66 years, Shelby Bates Spaugh; son, Kenneth Ray Spaugh; brother, Ray Spaugh and two sisters, Mae Phelps and Carolyn Lynch.  Surviving are his daughter, Denise Speas (Jimmy); sister, Mary Lott (Brooks); sister-in-law, Kathy Bates, and several nieces and nephews.  A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Westlawn Gardens of Memory with Rev. Ronnie Craddock officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Yadkin Valley Baptist Church, 1324 Yadkin Valley Rd. Advance, NC 27006.
