Carol Wood Moore of Mt. Holly, N.C., formerly of Winston-Salem, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 4, 2010. She was born on April 22, 1957 in Winston-Salem to Harvey Lee Wood and Helen Lancaster Wood, who preceded her in death. Carol graduated from R. J. Reynolds High School in 1975 and from Kings College in 1977 as a paralegal. She married Richard Lee Moore in year 1978. She is survived by her husband, daughter Courtney, sons Ricky, Robby, Randy and Rusty of Mt. Holly, NC and step-daughter, Alisha; as well as her granddaughter Alyssa Moore. She is also survived by her brother, Keith Wood of King, N.C. and sisters, Cindy Hutchins of King, N.C., and Betsy Vanover of China Grove, N.C., as well as her many nieces and nephews who cherished her as an aunt, friend, and inspiration. Carol touched many hearts with her expansive love for everyone, her beautiful spirit and wonderful sense of humor. She was a member of Pinedale Christian Church in Winston-Salem, NC. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 7 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem. Her funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 8 at 2:00 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller with Bill McKenzie officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
