Carol Smith Currie

Mrs. Carol Smith Currie, 81, went to be with the Lord November 13, 2023, at her home.  She was born December 28, 1941, in Richmond County to the late Alexander and Virgina Smith.  Carol was a faithful and supportive wife of a Methodist minister through his time of going to school and 52 plus years of ministry.  She was known as a lady of grace, a loving mom who had high standards for her children and wanted them to be raised according to the Word of God.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Tommy Smith, and sister-in-law, Wanda.  She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bill Currie; son, Curtis Currie (Tara); Daughter, Carolene Martin (Glenn); Son, Tim Currie (Carrie); grandchildren, Ashley Soto (Michael), Shelby Currie, Sarah Martin, Rebekah Martin, Zeb Currie, and Luke Currie; great-grandchild, James Soto; Sisters, Kathy Moore (Jeff), JoAnn Hopkins (Mike), nieces, and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude for the care given by the nurses who cared for Carol. A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, November18, 2023 at New Hope Methodist Church with Chaplain Drew Southern Officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane Suite 200, Mt.
