KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Carol Chandler Collins, 70, died Friday, July 5, 2013, at her home. Carol was born on February 14, 1943 in Forsyth County to the late Gwynn F. Chandler and Stella Hanks Chandler Beeson. Carol was a true friend to all and was loved by everyone. She had a great sense of humor, sharing her laughter unselfishly. Carol enjoyed the beach, Carolina Basketball and had a special love for her cats, but most of all was devoted to her loving family. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her step father, Archie Beeson. Surviving are her husband, Dale, of the home; one son, Jason (Nancy) Collins; one daughter, Christy (Jason) Robbins; one grandson, Chandler Robbins; one sister, Sue Beeson; and two brothers, Zane and Orbie Chandler; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Kernersville Friends Meeting with Pastor Jerry Gibbons officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 PM, Monday, July 8, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Forsyth Humane Society, 61 Miller Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27104, Kernersville Friends Meeting, 320 N. Main St, Kernersville, NC 27284, or NC Triad - Susan G. Komen Foundation, 1106 Burke St, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
