Carol Vick Carriker, Sr.

Kernersville - Mr. Carol Vick Carriker Sr., age 89, of Kernersville passed away Monday April 25, 2016 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Stanley County to Ransom Asyria and Velma Hahn Carriker. Mr. Carriker was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mabel Juanita Carriker.

Mr. Carriker was a member of the U.S. Army serving in Austria. He retired from Exxon after over forty years of service. He loved gardening, tractors, woodworking and spending time outside.

Surviving are two sons, Carol Vick ""Chip"" Carriker Jr. and wife Wendy, Kelvin D. Carriker and wife Cynthia, two grandchildren, Melanie Stevens and husband Trent and Megan Carriker, a sister, Blanche Hatley and a brother Gerald Carriker.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday April 28, 2016 at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Albermarle. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the Carriker Family. In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorials be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem NC 27103 or charity of donor's choice. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Piney Grove Nursing and Rehab and the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for their loving care.
