Carol Hildreth Blanco, 82 formerly of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully on April 19th at her daughter's home in Wildomar CA. Carol was born on March 20, 1934 to William and Lucille Hildreth. She grew up in Winston-Salem and graduated from Gray High School in 1952. Carol married the love of her life, Ralph Stephen Blanco in January 1953 and they remained faithful and lovingly together until his passing in March 2003. Carol will always be remembered by her sweet and delicate spirit and her contagious smile. While her words were trapped inside her body, her eyes spoke to those she loved. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son Ralph Anthony Blanco, her grandson, Chadwick Dillon Matthews and three sisters, Nancy Williams, Harriet Lawrence and Ida Frances Voss. She is survived by her daughters Janet Thompson and husband Scott of Midland NC; Joan Cordero and husband Michael of Wildomar CA; grandsons Drew Matthews and wife Zoey of Murrieta CA and Mike Cordero of Wildomar CA; great-grandson Chadwick Dillon Matthews; three brothers William Hildreth and wife Jean of Winston-Salem NC, Alston Hildreth and wife Helen of East Bend NC, David Hildreth of Myrtle Beach SC. Carol is also survived by many nieces and nephews who all loved her dearly. A memorial service will be held at Hayworth Miller Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 on Saturday, April 30. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to the Alzheimer's Association PO Box 96011 Washington DC 20090-6011.
