Carlene Fulp Hedrick

KERNERSVILLE - Carlene Fulp Hedrick, 80, went to be with the Lord Thursday, August 14, 2014 at her home. Carlene was born on May 21, 1931 in Forsyth County to Arthur and Margaret Pate Brendle. Carlene retired after 25 years of devoted loving care to the children of the Baptist Hospital Pediatric Unit. Carlene was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church and active in the Cancer Support Group. During retirement she loved being with her family, spending many hours in the garden and enjoyed time spent at her beach home.

In addition to her parents, Carlene was preceded in death by a son, Robert W. Fulp; and seven brothers and sisters.

Surviving are her daughter, Debbie F. Griffin; two sisters, Shirley Morris and Frances Floyd; one grandson, Kris Griffin and wife, Allyson; and a devoted pet, Winston.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2014 at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Shumate and Dr. Bobby Roberson officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 17 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
