Carl Denton Royal

KERNERSVILLE - Mr. Carl Denton Royal, 80, died Sunday, September 22, 2013, at his home. Carl was born on November 30, 1932 in Wilkes County to the late Ira and Maudie Royal. He was a good Christian man and a member of Welcome Door Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. Carl was a talented craftsman and loved building doll houses. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by three brothers, Ezra, Presley and Belton Royal. Surviving are his wife, Ethel Bobbitt Royal of the home; one daughter, Patricia (Charlie) Taylor; one son, Michael (Susan) Royal; five grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one sister, Hester Clark; and two brothers, Page and Charlie Royal. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Welcome Door Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Pinnix officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday, September 23, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
