JAMES RURAL HALL, Mr. Carl Ray James, 88, of Rural Hall died Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Carl was born in Guilford County on October 1, 1920 the son of the late William and Beulah Moser James. He was a member of South Park Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. Carl was a Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and had received Five Battle Stars for his service during WWII. He also lost his brother Pete James in conflict during WWII. Carl owned and operated City Flooring Company in Winston-Salem. Mr. James was preceded in death by a son Keith Gray James, a sister and two brothers. Surviving is his wife of 64 years Mrs. Margaret Stilley James of the home, two sons, Bobby R. James and Jeffery Anthony James and wife Diane all of Rural Hall, a granddaughter Shannon Breininger and her husband Ronald and two great grandchildren Darienne Berininger and Ronald Berininger, III all of Cocoa Beach, FL. A graveside service will conducted 3:00 PM, Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Rural Hall Memorial Park with Ralph Sproles officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the V F W District 11 Honor Guard. The James family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM tonight at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. Memorial Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Stanleyville, 851 Ziglar Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27105. The James family wish to express their appreciation for the special care Carl received from WFU Baptist Medical Center Doctors and Nursing staff on both the 10th Floor and in the 4Th Floor ICU unit.
