GILLEY - WINSTON-SALEM
Mr. Carl Jackson ""Jack"" Gilley, 86, departed this life on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born May 16, 1929 in Forsyth County to the late Annie Belle Kiger Gilley and James Howard Gilley, Sr. Mr. Gilley was a faithful member of Union Tabernacle Church and a lifelong servant of God. He and his wife sang the gospel story throughout the Piedmont for many years and now they are singing together in Heaven. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gilley was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Evelene Fearrington Gilley. He is survived by three sons: Carl Calvin Gilley and wife Mary Nell, Keith Edwin Gilley and wife Delores ""Lois"", and Michael Reece Gilley and wife Tracy; seven grandchildren: Samantha Ann Ingalls, Sabrina Lynn Moore, Eric Daniel Gilley, Sr., Kyle Edward Gilley, Jennifer Renee Gilley, Lindsay Ann Gilley, Thomas Jackson ""T.J."" Gilley; five great-grandchildren, Autumn Gilley, Eric Gilley, Jr., Gary Gilley, Daphne Moore, and Caroline Moore; one sister, Shirley Hayden; one brother, James Howard Gilley, Jr.; companion of 10 years, Ruby Norman; faithful friend, Sandra Midkiff; and numerous extend family members and friends. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 20 at Union Tabernacle Church with Pastor J.K. Faries officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, August 19 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or Union Tabernacle Church, 6000 Baux Mountain Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105
