Carl Dean Edwards

Mr. Carl Dean Edwards, 75 of Winston-Salem, a loving husband, son, brother and uncle, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Carl was born August 19, 1937 in Forsyth County to Carlie Freel And Ann Pollard Edwards. He was a retired Independent Truck Owner and Operator, and also a W-S Journal paper carrier, along with his wife who helped him with the route for 17 years. Carl's many hobbies included, riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing and watching the Sun Rise each morning. He was preceded in death by his father. Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife of 57 years, Nancy Angel Edwards of the home, his mother, Ann Pollard Edwards of Winston-Salem, two sisters; Shirley Edwards Hellard of Clemmons, NC, Brenda Edwards Byrd and husband, Roy of Alabama and a number of nieces and nephews, whom he loved. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The Funeral Service will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, November 4 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel officiated by Rev. David Smith and Rev. Jason Holley. A Graveside Service will be held 1:00 pm Monday, November 5 in Westlawn Gardens of Memory. Flowers will be accepted but memorials may be made to the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
