Carl Cooper

Mr. Carl Wayne Cooper, 67, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded with love after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, January 6, 2023. He was born October 6, 1955, in Harnett County.

Carl deeply loved God, his family, his dogs, and his friends. He loved people and was a friend to anyone he crossed paths with.

Carl loved coaching and umpiring little league baseball and softball and was loved at every ballpark he went to. He was also an avid golfer who always found joy surrounded by friends at the golf course. His presence has always made an impact on others and his legacy will not be forgotten.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Ennis Cooper and Sarah Hart Cooper and his brother, Charles L. Cooper. He is survived by his wife, Gloria “Dianne” Thornton Cooper; two sons, Kent Cooper and Kyle Cooper (Katie); daughter, Craigan Cooper; grandson, Christian Cooper; and brother, Thomas E. Cooper.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 10th at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel with Rev. John Bishop officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, January 9th at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s or the American Cancer Society.
