Carl Blackwelder

Mr. Carl Bryce Blackwelder, 92, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022.  He was born April 8, 1930, in Alexander County to the late Lester and Hexie Blackwelder.  Carl proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.  After his tenure in the service, he worked as a sewing machine mechanic in the textile industry for Hanes Hosiery and retired from Lucia.  In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his loving wife, Ermon Beauchamp Blackwelder.  He is survived by his daughter, Carolene Dougherty (Joseph) and granddaughter, Jennifer Demag (Zachary).  A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 20th at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 19th at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Veterans of Foreign War Post 9010, 4675 Hampton Road, Clemmons, NC 27012.
