Carl Asplund

Carl Bennett Asplund passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on August 18th, in King, NC, at the age of 67.  He was born on October 31, 1954, to Jacqui and Ed Asplund in Miami, Florida.  He moved to New York City where he met the love of his life and best friend-- his wife of 30 years, Shari.  They lived in London, England; then Florida, and moved to North Carolina 23 years ago. Carl was a computer guru.  He worked as a director of MIS/IT for several national and international companies (and then as a consultant) his entire professional life. He was a highly intelligent and kind man, always curious about life and learning.  He had a lifelong love of sailing and the ocean.  Above all, he was capable of making anyone laugh; and he was adored by anyone who knew him.  He will be forever missed. There will not be a service held; however, in his memory, any donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association.
