Calvin Hobart Vestal

Mr. Calvin Hobart Vestal, 91 of Clemmons, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 25, 2024. He was born November 9, 1932 in Forsyth County to the late Edgar Hobart Vestal and Pearl Cockerham Vestal. He was a US Navy veteran serving during the Korean War. Calvin was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. He had retired as a building contractor and developer. He served as president of the Winston-Salem Homebuilders’ Association in 1980 and was a Lifetime Director of the National Homebuilders Association.

 In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Craig Steven Vestal; sisters, Betty Smith (Pete) and Eunice Gambill (George); and brother, Donald (Mary).

 Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 69 years, Ruth; son, John Vestal and wife Anne; daughter Andrea O’Shea and husband Dan; and daughter-in-law Becky Vestal; grandchildren, Allison Laborde and husband James; Ryan Vestal, Sean O’Shea, and Zachary and Stacey Vestal; great-grandchildren, Adele, Maylon and Brantley; numerous nieces and nephews; and many devoted friends.

 A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Pastor Will Toburen officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
