KERNERSVILLE - Mr. Burley Benson Miller, 86, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at his home. Burley was born on September 24, 1926 in Yadkin County to the late Joseph Columbus and Edith Azmon Miller. He was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church and retired from RJ Reynolds after 36 years of dedicated service. Burley loved spending time with his family and enjoyed gardening. In addition to his parents, Burley was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred McBee Miller; and his second wife, Gail Warden Miller; four brothers and three sisters. Surviving are three daughters, Barbara Marson, Penny Pettitt and Donna Idol; two sons, Randall and Michael Kelly; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one sister and one brother. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, November 23, at Edgewood Baptist Church with Rev. Kent Hogan officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday, November 22, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Hospice of Winston-Salem for their loving care of Mr. Miller during his illness.
