Mr. Burch Gene Woosley, 87, of Clemmons died Saturday, August 8, 2015 at his home. He was born September 9, 1927 in Davidson County, the son of the late Roy and Celeste Lambeth Woosley. Mr. Woosley was a lifetime member of Mount Olivet United Methodist Church and was a graduate of Arcadia High School. He was a Dairy Farmer all of his life. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Woosley and a sister, Florence Barnhart. Survivors include his wife, Maxie Snyder of the home; two step daughters, Tammy Sheets Marshall and husband, Dale of Wilmington and Yana Sheets Matherly and husband, Gary of Pfafftown; four step grandchildren, Elizabeth Hanson and husband, Tim of Wilmington, Laura Smith and husband, Richard of Okinawa, Japan, Jordan Marshall and wife, Jennifer of Holly Ridge and Cory Matherly of Pfafftown; six step great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Phelps of Clemmons and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Karen Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
